Excellent Teacher - Trainee Instructions

The Office for Student Success provides and manages Excellent Teacher, a course developed for University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) medical residents, fellows and other appropriate trainees. Excellent Teacher is an online, self-paced program that is offered through Canvas, UMMC's learning management system, and it is offered on an annual basis. The course is based on the resident as teacher model supported in the medical literature, and it includes information related to Teaching and Communication, Curriculum Design, Feedback and Evaluation, and Ethics and Professionalism.

Completion of the Excellent Teacher course is mandatory for all house officers in their first year of residency/fellowship training at UMMC. Instructions for UMMC house officers can be found here.
